In My Mailbox (2)

In My Mailbox is a meme that shares all the new books you've bought, borrowed, received, or traded for the week.

Shine by Lauren Myracle
(From Goodreads):When her best guy friend falls victim to a vicious hate crime, sixteen-year-old Cat sets out to discover who in her small town did it. Richly atmospheric, this daring mystery mines the secrets of a tightly knit Southern community and examines the strength of will it takes to go against everyone you know in the name of justice.
Against a backdrop of poverty, clannishness, drugs, and intolerance, Myracle has crafted a harrowing coming-of-age tale couched in a deeply intelligent mystery. Smart, fearless, and compassionate, this is an unforgettable work from a beloved author.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. I have heard nothing but great things about this novel. Its going to be a tearjerker!

Love You Hate You Miss You by Elizabeth Scott
(From Goodreads): Get this, I'm supposed to be starting a journal about "my journey." Please. I can see it now: Dear Diary, As I'm set adrift on this crazy sea called "life" . . . I don't think so. It's been seventy-five days. Amy's sick of her parents suddenly taking an interest in her.
And she's really sick of people asking her about Julia. Julia's gone now, and she doesn't want to talk about it. They wouldn't get it, anyway. They wouldn't understand what it feels like to have your best friend ripped away from you.
They wouldn't understand what it feels like to know it's your fault.
Amy's shrink thinks it would help to start a diary. Instead, Amy starts writing letters to Julia.
But as she writes letter after letter, she begins to realize that the past wasn't as perfect as she thought it was—and the present deserves a chance too.

I was asked to write a quest post for another blog which is so exciting. I will be reviewing this book for my guest post!

Swagbucks

In today's economy money is tight. I found a great website called Swagbucks where you can earn points and get Amazon Gift Cards.  I have gotten a few gift cards already and have been buying books with them. If I can get other people to search and win on this site I can win more points and you can win some gift cards to fund your reading habit. If you are interested please sign up under my name by clicking on the link below. Thank you so much!

What is Swagbucks?

First, it is EASY and FREE to join Swagbucks. Consider it like a “frequent flyer” program for surfing the web. With components like email, Facebook, Twitter, and more, most of us tend to be on the internet at some point in the day. The easiest place to run is Google.com to find URL or links to places we need to go. Instead I use Swagbucks.com to earn Swag Bucks. Note: When you join, you get 30 instant Swag Bucks.

When you accumulate enough Swag Bucks, there are endless things for which to trade in your bucks. Everything from sports memorabilia, to kids toys, jewelry, and $5 Amazon Gift Cards (450 Swag Bucks).

With the concept Search, Earn, Redeem – it really doesn’t cost you anything extra to get FREE stuff while searching the web (you were doing that anyways.)

Before I Fall By Lauren Oliver

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

(Synopsis From Goodreads):  What if you had only one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life? Samantha Kingston has it all: the world's most crush-worthy boyfriend, three amazing best friends, and first pick of everything at Thomas Jefferson High—from the best table in the cafeteria to the choicest parking spot. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life.
Instead, it turns out to be her last.
Then she gets a second chance. Seven chances, in fact. Reliving her last day during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death—and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.
I just finished this book last night and all I have to say is that I am truly stunned by how amazing this book was! It was riveting and kept me turning the pages! Lauren Oliver's writing style was beautiful. I found myself hoping that somehow Sam would be given another chance at life and end up with Kent. Sam and Kent's story was gorgeous and kept me rooting for them.
I would recomend this book to everybody. You can watch how Samantha changes and learns what is truly right and wrong. I think this is an amazing read for teens and even adults!
